Second Saturday Trail Volunteering @ Twin Valleys

JOIN CATS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PAYNE MOUNTAIN TRAIL, A NEW PATH THAT IS BEING CREATED IN LEWIS AT TWIN VALLEYS,  ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH AT 9 A.M.

We will once again work on a new trail that goes to the summit of Payne Mountain in Twin Valleys.  We will be working on the last piece of the trail that goes up a steep section that will involve bench cutting, cribbing, and other work ​that makes this trail more accessible. This trail is a hidden gem with an incredible view, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

We will be working with shovels,  pick-axes, and hand saws.  Getting to the trail will involve a walk of about 1.5 miles from the Twin Valley Lodge.

DIRECTIONS: We will meet at the Twin Valleys Outdoor Education Center. Click here for the Google map directions to 95 Twin Valley Rd, Westport, NY. We will wrap up around 1 pm.  Make sure to bring gloves, water, and some snacks!

REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@champlainareatrails.com, but it’s also okay to meet us there on Saturday morning.
